Depending on the size of the storm, they can cause catastrophic damage to not only homes but communities. Storms can do everything from uprooting trees - which could fall on houses, fences or just damage land overall, rip off siding, shingles, gutters or anything else on the exterior of the house. Either one of those things can be very expensive to repair and even taking the right precautions would not help protect from those things happening.
